Who It’s For

You run a real business. Start being treated like it.

I work with a small number of owner-operators who are past the hobby stage, past the shoebox stage, and tired of being the most financially sophisticated person in the room.

001 / The Identity

The owner who treats the business like a business.

There’s a moment where a business stops being something you do and starts being something you own. The revenue is real. Other people depend on it. The decisions have commas in them.

The owners I work with all crossed that line and did the same thing next: they decided the financial side deserved the same seriousness as the work itself. Not because someone sold them on it. They got tired of guessing. That’s the identity this is built for, and it’s probably why you’re still reading.

Most owners hit that moment and keep the same accounting setup they had when they were doing $80K out of a truck: a preparer who files something in April and disappears. Not because they’re careless. Because nobody ever told them the setup was supposed to change.

If you’ve outgrown it, you already know. The feeling is a specific one: you’re making real money and you still can’t answer basic questions about it.

002 / Sound Familiar

Four things I hear on almost every first call.

01

You’re not sure you’re actually profitable.

Revenue looks fine. The account balance doesn’t match the feeling. You genuinely could not say which jobs, products, or months make money, and nobody has ever shown you.

02

A tax bill blindsided you.

You found out what you owed at the same moment you found out it was due. No warning, no planning, no chance to do anything about it. That is not bad luck. That is a missing process.

03

Your CPA is impossible to reach.

You email. You wait. You hear back in April, about last year. Every decision that actually moved the number was made months ago, alone, without advice.

04

You have a real goal and no financial co-pilot.

You want to grow, take more income out, or sell in five years. Nobody is tracking whether the numbers are moving toward that or away from it.

003 / The Filter

Here’s who qualifies.

I’d rather be honest up front than waste your time on a call. This is the actual bar.

You qualify if

  • You’re an owner-operator. It’s your business, your risk, and your money.
  • You’re doing roughly $500K+ a year. Below that, the plan costs more than it returns, and I’ll tell you so.
  • You’re current on filings, or willing to get current. Catch-up is quoted separately and it’s a normal way to start.
  • You’re comfortable working virtually. Email, phone, Teams, secure portal. No office, no drive.
  • You want the books and the taxes together. That’s the only way I work.

You don’t if

  • You only need a personal return. I don’t take individual-only clients.
  • You’re shopping on price. There is always someone cheaper, and there is a reason.
  • You want me to file on books I’ve never seen. My license is on that signature.
  • You’re hoping to leave income off. I spent a year catching exactly that.
  • You want to be left alone until next April. You already have that arrangement.
004 / The Threshold

Where the line sits, and why.

The plan costs $1,250 a month. Below a certain size that is a real bite out of the business and I will tell you so. Above it, the tax planning alone tends to cover it.

Under $250K Too early
$250K–$500K Let’s talk anyway

The plan starts paying for itself here

$500K–$1M Right in the middle
$1M–$3M Right in the middle
$3M+ Let’s scope it
These are guides, not a gate. Revenue is the quickest signal, but the real question is whether the plan will earn back more than it costs in your situation. That is what the first call is for.
005 / Straight Talk
Being turned down isn’t an insult. Being taken on when you shouldn’t be is.

I take a limited number of businesses because every one of them gets me personally. When I’m full, I’m full. And when you’re not a fit, you’ll hear it on the first call, not after three months of invoices.

The Next Step

Think you qualify?

Five questions, two minutes. I read every one of these myself.
